I’m taking on the Live Fearless Challenge this September to support the almost 180,000 Australians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis (collectively known as IBD).

On a personal note, within the last few months after lots of tests and procedures I have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Crohn's has already impacted me physically, emotionally, socially and financially. Luckily I have already started building a support network of lovely people also living with IBD, and hope to participate in this fundraising to support research and advocacy - creating a more positive future and better health outcomes for all of us.

IBD is one of the most misunderstood chronic health conditions as it effects each person differently. People living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are ‘frequent flyers’ of the hospital system. It strips away income, disrupts education, work, relationships and travel, and can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

That's why I’m getting active this September and challenging myself to complete at least 300 minutes of yoga. As I am currently experiencing what is known as a "flare" of Crohn's symptoms I am not currently capable of much exercise, but I feel that 10 minutes per day of gentle yoga is achievable.
