I'm living fearlessly this September by participating in the Live Fearless Challenge 2024
Hey Everone!!!!
I am once again participating in the Live Fearless Challenge and as Team Captain of Mac's Crohnie Clan, I couldn't be prouder to be back for a 5th year!!!!
Mac is now 16 and is doing well in Year 11 :) We are so very proud of him and his achievements, keeping a smile on his face despite being a immuno-compromised young man. This winter so far has been particularly hard for him and he has been unwell (despite having his flu vaccination) but he has done his schoolwork while he has been unwell, making hay while the sun shines.
Mac still takes his medication as a matter of course and has been doing well on it. He needs to see his paediatric gastroenterologist only twice a year now and has been keeping his calprotectin (inflammatory markers in the gastrointestinal tract) levels relatively low with a combination of medication and diet.
In the last year, I have also become immune-compromised due to autoimmune arthritis and fibromyalgia so I am also controlling my C-reactive proteins (CRP for short) levels through a combination of medication, diet and exercise. Sometimes it works.
Mac and I share the some of the same medication types, so I have a little bit of an idea how it feels for him. Its hard so I can just imagine how hard this has been for a teenager. Mac is so wonderful!!
Trev and I will be in New Zealand for half of the Challenge and we will have no worries about doing the 150kms, I know we will do more!!
So here we are, proud to be doing the Challenge to help raise money for Crohn's and Colitis Australia - these diseases need to be eradicated!
Love and hugs,
Suzie

The official stuff is below!
I’m getting active to achieve 150kms and raise awareness and much needed funds for Australians living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
As I challenge myself to reach these goals during September, it would really help me to know that I have your support. If you can rally behind me with even a small donation, it would motivate me through the month and keep my spirits high.
All proceeds go towards Crohn's & Colitis Australia's support services, research initiatives, education and advocacy programs for the Crohn's and colitis community.
Thank you and see you at the finish line!
