I'm living fearlessly this September. Will you support me?

I’m taking on the Live Fearless Challenge this September to raise awareness and funds for the almost 180,000 Australians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

IBD is one of the most misunderstood chronic health conditions. Yet people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are ‘frequent flyers’ of the hospital system. It strips away income, disrupts education, work, relationships and travel, and can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

That’s why I’m getting active this September and aiming to complete 240km. Every kilometre is for the thousands of people living with IBD who face this in silence.

Consider supporting me as I take on the LFC! Your donation will help fund research, patient support, education and advocacy - because no one should have to manage this disease on their own.

Day 26

10km… I’m exhausted

Day 24 - Dedicated to Sal

Today’s walk is dedicated to our dear friend Sally who lived fearlessly but sadly lost her cancer battle last night. I began my walk and it was freezing and windy… I really didn’t want to go but I decided I would dedicate my walk to Sal. I decided to listen to Ivys playlist. As I was walking the song “Sally, when the wine runs out” started playing. When the song finished my AirPods stopped working (they were on 90% so they shouldn’t have) and the wind suddenly stopped. The rest of my walk was still and without music and very emotional. I walked my longest distance! Rest Peacefully dear Sally xx

Day 23

Sooo cold and windy walking today! Weather said feels like 8 degrees. Hopefully the weather improves tomorrow!!

Day 22

Killed it today! Morning beach walk. Run with Grade 2. Afternoon walk with Teddy. Distance covered 10km!

Day 21

Only managed to get 6km in today but I’ll make that up tomorrow!

Day 20

Nice to have Marc & Ted to keep me company today. Walked Cooly/rainbow. Lots of whales today!

Day 19

Had an extra walking buddy today. Ivy joined me and we walked and studied with flash cards! 10km walking today!

Day 18

Day 18. Drank up the cough medicine and walked 10.5km (morning and afternoon walks)! See photos below

Days 15 & 16

Still under the weather. Morning walks on south Golden Beach before work.

Day 12 & 13

Still under the weather but getting it done (albeit at a much slower pace)!

Day 11

Slowly making my way back into the real world. Still congested and with a nasty cough but it’s time to slowly kick on and get moving! Took Ted down the beach for some fresh air and an attempts at some steps. Had to have lots of breaks but managed to walk about 2km. Teddy was very pleased to get out of the house after being stuck inside for a week!
In the meantime while I have been bedridden Marc has taken up the challenge on my behalf! See photos of Teddy enjoying the beach below!

Day 7 - battling influenza

So I have been sick with influenza since Friday afternoon! I haven’t given up. Just need a pause to rest and get better! Thanks for your understanding! Hopefully I’ll be playing catch up soon xx

Day 4

Standing ab workout & 8km walk!

Day 3

35 minute workout - gentle cardio & deep stretch (no one was up early enough to take a photo). 9km walk, Teddy is getting better at long distance walking! It's a hard slog though, can't believe its only day 3!

Day 3 - Donation match day

Donations today made after 9am will be matched by an anonymous donor. Don't forget to give a donation. Even small change $$ makes a big change!

Day 2

Day 2 - Getting it done!
35 minute dumbbell total body burn workout & 8km walk!
See pictures below

Day 1 - I'm exhausted

Day 1 - Up before the sun to do a 30 minute intense cluster set workout. Off to work. Back home and out the door 4 minutes later with Teddy in tow to complete 8km walk! Unfortunately my mate gave up around the 2km mark and insisted I carry him the rest of the walk! Walked the streets of Pottsville Waters, Black Rocks, around the bushland towards Wooyung and back home (9km today). See photos below :) and don't forget to donate on Wednesday after 9 for your chance to win the bottle of bubbly!!!

Biggest donation on Wednesday wins!!!

Whoever donates the most on Wednesday I will give a bottle of Grant Burge Pinot Noir Chardonnay so you can celebrate the difference you have made to people living with IBD!

Walking & Workouts!

This September I will be pushing myself to complete 240km (that's the distance of walking from Pottsville to Coffs Harbour) & 30 workouts. That is equivalent to an 8km walk every day and 1 workout a day (on top of work & family life)! I'll keep a blog entry each day so you can watch my progress!
Please donate & help me make a difference!!!
