For All Three of Our Littles

This little one has Crohn's Disease which means her immune system attacks her. It damages healthy cells, leaving her with ulcers throughout her entire gastrointestinal system. This eventually leads to irreversible damage and ultimately, surgery.

This September, I'm taking part in the Live Fearless Challenge to raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease.

I'm walking 5km each day, which doesn't sound like much, but I'm lazy and it's Spring, which means there's nesting, dive bombing birds out there.

So, my biggest ask is just for some magical vibes to be sent out to the universe for Piper and the nesting birds to please not attack me.

My Updates

Day 4

It was cold, the bed was warm and the beagles were still asleep, so I didn’t want to get out. Fifteen later, they were awake and I was up and fifteen minutes after that, we were out walking.
I like to take the puppies walking really early in the morning because there are less things awake and less smells for them to track. They’re just easier to walk. Being late this morning taught me to not me lazy tomorrow as Burger almost wiggled out of his harness while I was chatting to a new friend, there were a lot more dogs to bark at and smells to track. Something black also shot across the path in front of us, which the puppies took off after and pulled me into a bush. My shoe laces also kept coming  undone and I got a blister. Ugh.
I’ve also seen where some nesting plovers are, but I think I’m not in their attacking zone.
While all of this happens, I just remind myself that as unpleasant as it is, I can go home. I can have a shower and not think about it again, but Piper can’t. She has to exist in the unpleasantness of Crohn’s and carry on with her day, which I imagine feels only a tiny bit like the chaos of my walk this morning. She has no escape and is always so kind, sweet and funny, the very opposite to how I was when I got home.
