I was diagnosed with Crohn's as a teen and struggled terribly. Facing massive health challenges whilst aiming to be a professional dancer created a bumpy journey for my physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
I felt that I was facing a life of poor health and limitations and that I would never achieve my dreams. Then there was a dawning moment when I recognised that it was going to be up to me to find the best possible way to live a life unrestricted by Crohn’s, like that afforded to those I knew without invisible illnesses. So, I set about studying, experimenting and learning as much as possible about the human body and how to change my mindset to allow myself to thrive.
I launched a successful business, Corethentic, using the skills and knowledge I gained on my journey to help people with, as well as those without an invisible illness, find ways to truly respect and love their bodies and create the lives they want.
I had no one to look to as an example of happiness and health while living with IBD when my journey to wellness started out, and I have never forgotten the isolation and desperation I felt during that time. As an adult now, who has toured, choreographed, spoken on stage/camera, been married for over a decade and built a successful business; I hope I can be that person to look to for others who face a similar desperation. I do not want anyone to suffer in silence and darkness in the way that I did, and I want to help others find sustainable ways to live a good life with IBD.
I'm a Living Fearless Ambassador & Taking The Challenge This September!
I have lived with Crohn's Disease for over two decades and know how essential it is that research is done to help find a cure, and increase the quality of life for people like myself with this invisible disease.
Many people with Crohn's feel unable to exercise due to the chronic pain and other symptoms that they encounter; but as a Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer and Dance Teacher with a Wellness business (Corethentic), I know how effective movement can be for the body and mind, so to encourage others to exercise too, I'm putting on my sneakers to achieve 150kms and raise awareness and much needed funds for people living in Australia with IBD this September!
All proceeds go towards Crohn's & Colitis Australia who provide research, education and advocacy programs for people living with IBD.
As I tackle this physical challenge, it will help to know that you have supported me with even a small donation.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
