My reason why…

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease over nine years ago. Crohn’s is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune condition - often invisible to the outside world, but impossible to ignore for those who live with it every day. I’ve always tended to downplay it and just get on with life (something I’ll always continue to do), but the truth is that it has had a profound impact on my life - be it physically, emotionally, mentally, and even financially.

What many people don’t realise is that Crohn’s brings with it countless complications and side effects. I’ve already faced my fair share, and I know there will be more challenges ahead—that’s simply the nature of the disease.

This September, I’m taking part in the Live Fearless Challenge! My goal is to cover 150km throughout the month - around 5km every day - whether that’s walking, running, or swimming. I’m doing this to raise both funds and awareness for those living with an Inflammatory Bowel Disease. 

I completely understand that there are countless important causes asking for support, so please know there’s no pressure to contribute. For me, this is less about breaking $$ records and more about shining a light on an under-recognised, underfunded disease.

I am just one of the 180,000 Australians living with an IBD. By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness and help make a difference.
