I’m back fundraising for the Live Fearless Challenge but this time I started off the challenge with a colonoscopy. At the age of 27 I’ve already had 3 colonoscopies, swallowed a pill cam and had a Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE). I was nervous going into this colonoscopy because I’m very happy on my treatment plan of daily oral medication and intravenous infusions every eight weeks and I was concerned that the colonoscopy would show the disease had spread and I would need to increase my infusions or start on a new medication. Luckily everything is looking ok and I can remain on my current treatment plan. It has meant that I’ve not completed as many kilometres of exercise as I’d planned to do over the weekend as I was recovering from the procedure. Instead I’ll need to push a bit harder in the next few weeks to make up for the slow start, but it’s worth it to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis Australia!
