Join the team today and let's get moving :)

As you may or may not know...I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease 24 years ago at the age of 7. I've since been through numerous ups and plenty of downs, various surgeries, treatments, hospital stays, and everything else in between - while trying to live my life, pursue a competitive surfing career, gain an education and a professional work career. I required my first ileostomy bag at the age of 17, my second at 25, my third at 28, and I underwent my most major surgery last year at age 30 and now live with a permanent colostomy bag.

After years out of action and life on hold, I'm ready to get moving with the 2021 Live Fearless Challenge and it'd be awesome if you could join me!

If you can't physically participate, a small donation or a social media share would be much appreciated - you'd be helping to support over 85,000 Australians living with Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, which is collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

All donations over $2 are tax deductible - and go towards Crohn's and Colitis Australia's support services, research initiatives, education and advocacy programs for the Crohn's and colitis community.

IBD is a lifelong chronic illness that needs to be managed even after symptoms go into remission. Typical symptoms include the frequent and urgent use of the toilet, diarrhea, bleeding, loss of appetite, anemia, vomiting, malnutrition, fatigue, and weight loss - as well as other symptoms and conditions associated with having IBD.

Although there is no known cause and no cure, early diagnosis and treatment can greatly improve the lives of those with IBD as well as reduce the need for surgery and hospitalisations.

People with IBD can feel burdened with a constant and often hidden struggle that affects their personal, social, and work life - it literally affects every aspect of life. Unfortunately, it is also often misunderstood due to the invisibility of the disease.

Make a donation, spread the awareness - make a difference.
