I'm living fearlessly this September. Will you support me?

As a Crohn’s patient for 20 years with many procedures along the journey, my goal is to support youth especially Hayley who I coach.

Forever grateful to my gastroenterologist and my just retired surgeon. Could not have got to where I am today without them.

I’m taking on the Live Fearless Challenge this September to raise awareness and funds for the almost 180,000 Australians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

IBD is one of the most misunderstood chronic health conditions. Yet people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are ‘frequent flyers’ of the hospital system. It strips away income, disrupts education, work, relationships and travel, and can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

That’s why I’m getting active this September and aiming to complete 150km. Every kilometre is for the thousands of people living with IBD who face this in silence.

Consider supporting me as I take on the LFC! Your donation will help fund research, patient support, education and advocacy - because no one should have to manage this disease on their own.

My Updates

Remission

On Monday I had my 3 year routine scopes.

I am in endoscopic remission! That’s 14 years since my bowel resection.

Thanks to my surgeon and gastroenterologist I was able to be part of the POCER study which helped shape the way patients are treated now…  started with Humira for a few years and have been taking Stelara since.

Andrea you've had crohns for many years now. Ive been with you ever since you were diagnosed. I've seen you have surgery, leave the house with out eating in hope you wouldn't need the toilet, countless day procedures due to crohns. It's cruel to see someone you love go through everything you have. I had never heard of crohns until you were diagnosed and can't believe when you mentioned crohns to someone how most people know someone with it. I've seen you bring up our daughter, work full-time, coach your kids in athletics and run the house. It's absolutely amazing how you have kept going. I hope all the money that everyone raises will help the fight.
