I'm living fearlessly this September. Will you support me?

I’m taking on the Live Fearless Challenge this September to raise awareness and funds for the almost 180,000 Australians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

IBD is one of the most misunderstood chronic health conditions. Yet people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are ‘frequent flyers’ of the hospital system. It strips away income, disrupts education, work, relationships and travel, and can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

That’s why I’m getting active this September and aiming to complete 100km. Every kilometre is for the thousands of people living with IBD who face this in silence.

Consider supporting me as I take on the LFC! Your donation will help fund research, patient support, education and advocacy - because no one should have to manage this disease on their own.

Blake

After months of declining health, 11kg weight loss, months & months of misdiagnosis and eventual 2 week hospitalisation with his body shutting down, our son was finally diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, the kid was crushed. Moving to Brisbane to chase his football dreams this year, his performance at club level and academy trials was pretty average due to chronic failing health and he thought his dreams for 2025 had faded. Then out of the blue while in hospital he was offered a shadow position for U15 emerging Socceroos, we couldn’t see a way for him to be able to recover enough to play at top level, but accepted the offer coz that’s what you do, not expecting anything further. Then came a full offer that he wanted to accept… he worked so hard to get fit again, put weight back on and regained muscle tone all in only 7 weeks and boy did it show! Named captain of the Qld Silver team, he led the boys to 8th out of 16 teams, playing 6 games in 6 days, only having 1/2 game on the bench. His drive & dedication is out of this world, proud doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel ?Literally putting his body on the line as a solid defender all whilst still recovering, trialling medications and navigating a new norm of what will be a lifelong disease.
Mate, you’re my inspiration and the epitome of “you can achieve anything that you set your mind to”
