I'm living fearlessly this September. Will you support me?

I’m taking on the Live Fearless Challenge this September to raise awareness and funds for the almost 180,000 Australians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

IBD is one of the most misunderstood chronic health conditions. Yet people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are ‘frequent flyers’ of the hospital system. It strips away income, disrupts education, work, relationships and travel, and can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

That’s why I’m getting active this September and aiming to complete 150km. Every kilometre is for the thousands of people living with IBD who face this in silence.

Consider supporting me as I take on the LFC! Your donation will help fund research, patient support, education and advocacy - because no one should have to manage this disease on their own.

My Story....

Not many people know but October 2024 i was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.

Mid Feb 2024 I started getting pains, spending my days making friends with the toilet, many weeks of barely eating, feeling bloated all the time and plenty of gas gurgling around, bloody stools and diarrhea.

I was lucky to find Drs who did tests and referred me to Gastro clinic straight away.
Every 2wks I would go back to my Dr and she would call the hospital to push them
Finally I got a Endoscopy and Colonoscopy but I still had to wait 3months to see the specialist.
When I finally saw the specialist he said I have UC and put me on medication.
It helped until early Feb 2025 then all my symptoms started again. I waited until my specialist appointment and told him I am having a flare up. I was immediately booked in for another procedure which showed I had alot of inflammation in the rectom. I had to have daily enemas for a month and then a steroid tablet after.
It still continues to find what will work for me but right now there has been no sign of blood which is the main thing right now.

I am going to participate in this challenge because I need to show myself I can do this even though I have a huge amount of anxiety.

Thanks for reading my life changing story.
