I'm living fearlessly this September. Will you support me?

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in January 2024- turning 30 was rough! I'd had symptoms on and off for at least 10 years, probably more!

During COVID I'd had enough and started to get my symptoms looked into properly. After 2 colonoscopies (yay for the prep not working properly the first time) and a fancy MRI for your intestines, I was diagnosed.

Finding the right medication was a struggle! The first one gave me terrible joint pain with no impact on the symptoms I was having and the second put me in hospital with a hypersensitivity reaction! Add in some steroids and it's a rough ride.

Now onto biologic medication (Stelara), I'm mostly in remission and finally in a place where I'm able to work on my physical health and fitness (and not be worried about where the closest toilet is wherever I am!!).

The Live Fearless challenge is going to be hard, 5K (or equivalent) every day is not something I typically come close to, but I'm so proud that I am in a place that I can even try.

I'll be aiming to walk, run and do weights-based workouts to get to my 5k each day, with some yoga or other low intensity options thrown in on those days my body just says no.

The most important thing I've learnt with Crohn's is that you have to listen to your body, it knows when something isn't right and will make you pay attention if you ignore it long enough ????

150km done!

I can't believe it! I've completed 150km in just 24 days which is crazy!
I'll be taking it a bit slower the rest of the month, the fatigue being so close to my next dose has well and truly kicked in, but I'm so proud of myself for the achievement knowing it would have been impossible last year.
I'm so thankful to my community who have helped me to raise over $1000 for such an incredible cause.

Thank you!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, I can't believe we're already over my $500 goal!
